InVircible is very low on system resources making it a
ideal solution for Terminal Services, along with requiring
far less updates than traditional scanners. For a datasheet
on IV please click HERE.
The following applies to the installation and running of
InVircible under Terminal Services, including:
- Windows 2000 Server Terminal Services,
- Hydra and
- Citrix
Installation and operation:
*To use InVircible under Terminal Services, the installation
to the TS host server must run from the server console,
when logged as administrator, with full permissions!
*As InVircible is "machine based", then every
active terminal session runs the same and only instance
of Interceptor that is active on the server! Hence, a single
instance of IV protects all users of a Terminal Services
server, saving a lot of computer resources, compared to
conventional antivirus loading of an additional application
instance, with every session opened.
*Note that a 'dummy user' should be logged on the server
in order to load Interceptor (Interceptor runs as an application,
not service), for as long as there are terminal sessions
in progress. The dummy user can be a non-privileged
one (preferably, for security reasons), as long as the installation
to the host was done with administrator privileges.
*The IV icon will not show on the client terminal system
tray, only on the server, where IV runs. The same is true
for IV alerts and messages, when reacting to a threat; Alerts
and messages will only show on the server, and will be reported
to IV Administrator. From the latter, one may realize
that IV's operation on the Terminal Services host, is fully
automatic, without possible user intervention. The system
administrator should bear this in mind when configuring
Interceptor options and defaults on the TS host server.
